Happy New Year from Proof Positive!

As we step into a new year, it’s the perfect moment to prioritize wellbeing—not just for yourself but for everyone around you. Whether you’re part of the autism community, a family member, a caregiver, or a wellbeing advocate, 2025 is an opportunity to make happiness a habit.

At Proof Positive, we’re fortunate to have our very own Chief Wellbeing Officer, Katie Curran, who leads by example and encourages us to prioritize wellbeing in our everyday interactions and practices. Inspired by this, we want to invite you to become your own Chief Wellbeing Officer in 2025

Research tells us that wellbeing isn’t something that just “happens”—it’s something we practice. By incorporating a few simple evidence-based practices into your routine, you can start building habits that promote flourishing – for you and those you care about.

5 Happy Habits from Proof Positive’s Chief Wellbeing Officer

  1. Reflect on what went well. Each morning or evening, take a moment to write down three good things that happened during the day. This simple practice can transform how you see the world.
  2. Find your Jolts of Joy. Make a list of five small things or acts that instantly make you happy (for example, a favorite song, moment, or person). Intentionally make time for those things every day, and watch how they elevate your mood.
  3. Embrace Sunlight. Spend 5-10 minutes outside first thing in the morning and as the sun is setting at night. This practice can help improve your mood, regulate your sleep cycle, and boost your overall wellbeing.
  4. Incorporate movement breaks. Try taking two 10-minute movement breaks each day (e.g. a walk, stretching, quick jog, etc). Physical activity, even in small doses, is a powerful way to improve your mood and energy.
  5. Share your good news. Each day, share your successes, big or small, with a designated person. Celebrating the good together fosters connection and strengthens relationships.

This year, commit to integrating the Skills of Happiness into your daily routine. By practicing these simple habits, you can become your own Chief Wellbeing Officer and help create a more flourishing world for you and those around you.

Wishing you a year of growth, happiness, and wellbeing!
