YALE School Spreads the Skills of Happiness

YALE also uses our faculty website to spread the Skills of Happiness even further. Through The Huddle, our employee engagement gateway, we’ve created a dedicated section linking directly to Proof Positive’s wellbeing skills and activities. This gives employees quick, easy access to strategies that promote personal and professional wellbeing. New staff members know they can turn to these resources and find impactful and straightforward skills of happiness to implement in their daily practice.
“Systematically implementing Proof Positive’s wellbeing skills is having a positive effect on the culture of our entire school.”
At YALE, we deeply care about our employees and want them to thrive. Happy, well-supported staff members are more likely to stay, and promoting skills of wellbeing is a powerful tool for staff retention. Proof Positive’s framework provides us with the tools to invest in our people in a meaningful and practical way.

Families have also noticed the shift. In special education, conversations often focus on deficits because that is how Individualized Education Programs are structured. But through the lens of Proof Positive, teachers are learning to highlight what is going right — and parents deeply appreciate hearing about their children’s strengths.
The effects are visible across our school culture. As educators and service providers practice wellbeing skills themselves, they are more energized, engaged, and enthusiastic in their teaching. This renewed sense of connection with students and colleagues translates directly into happier, more successful students. Tools like the PERMA+ Snapshot, which measures elements such as Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Mattering, Accomplishments, and Health, provide a structure for understanding and improving wellbeing at every level — individual, classroom, school, and campus-wide.
Systematically implementing Proof Positive’s skills is helping YALE School thrive. We’ve seen firsthand how energizing these practices can be. When educators feel better, they lead better. When students feel happier, they achieve more. And when entire school communities embrace wellbeing, everyone benefits.
Proof Positive worked for us, and it can work for you, too.
