This classroom favorite is back–this time with a wellbeing flair!

Educators, are you looking for a fun way to help your students enhance their wellbeing? Maybe you’ve been teaching wellbeing skills like the PERMA+ Snapshot (a skill that gives a snapshot personal rating of Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Mattering, Accomplishments, and +Health)and want a way to put those elements of wellbeing in action!

Autism Wellbeing Alliance member Julie inspired Proof Positive to create Bingo cards for the classroom using the PERMA+ elements of wellbeing. Throughout the day, students can try different activities to boost the various elements of PERMA+. Reach five in a row to get BINGO!

Julie tailored the cards to her students with autism and other disabilities, choosing actions on the squares that she knew would boost the PERMA+ elements. For example, pushing in chairs or helping clean up supports Mattering as a way for students to contribute to the classroom community. Writing a note of gratitude to someone can boost Relationships while taking three deep breaths can enhance mindfulness (+Health).

Download these pre-made Bingo cards  – or personalize one for your classroom – to bring wellbeing to the forefront of teaching! There are two versions, each with 5 Bingo Card variations:

We’ve also created brand new PERMA+ file folder activities for students who need additional support in learning about PERMA+ and identifying the elements of flourishing.

As the school year comes to a close, remember to check in on your wellbeing and the wellbeing of those around you. You can use the PERMA+ Snapshot survey to track how well you’re doing and feeling across each element of wellbeing over time. Reflect on which areas you’re already excelling in and which require some attention – because checking in with yourself (and your team and students), celebrating the areas of success, and addressing areas of need are essential to leading a happier, healthier life.
